To do's while it is getting the backdate finished.

clean up the engine compartment
cryo blast engine and trans
replate all hardware on engine and trans, refinish sheet metal, fan and housing
install lsd, new clutch
leak down and adjust valves

Cerakote, powder coat, paint and plate, almost ready to mate up with the trans that is out getting an lsd installed.

Love it. Always dig a good backdate.


I have an m491 car in my neighborhood that is never driven. It's a gold 85. Neighbor said he'd sell it for $60k, and I think I just might do it.

I got to see the Orange and Blue cars in process. A-mazing!

Makes me want to find a damaged 491 coupe and have Dave build a "Club Sport" / lightweight, sunroof delete, version for me. Non backdate. Would be TOUGH to pick a color.

Looking forward to seeing this one in the wild once finished. PCA SDR concours?

Ok I think these high end back dates have "jumped the shark"! Now we have to Gold plate the hardware to measure up? :-) (just kidding)

looks incredible. Love the dark on the intake. looks 'the business".
