Correct oil level gauge for 2.4S 1973

in the process of getting mine back together, I find contradicting info on what the correct tank/oil level gauge should be. Can you guys confirm that 911 641 202 01 is correct for the S? This is the one that no longer has quarter markings, but still the silver button I find so many "concours" resto's of 2.4S 72/73s that seem to have the older one including the quarter-liter markings (911.641.202.00), which to the info I have, were only used until '71. Anything that I am missing here? I believe both should be correct for 60l tanks. Thanks for clarifying. | ||

The top unmarked dial is correct for a '73 2.4. the bottom is for the 2.2s and earlier. This was caused by the change around in oil tanks location and capacity between '71 and '73 and the one with markings will not read correctly with your '73 2.4 tank. Does yours have a date stamp on the back ? The top was the same for several years after '73. HTH Dennis
