Angry 915 Gearbox Casing Crack?

Is there any history of 915 gearboxes cracking their casings?
Today whilst underneath the back end stripping breakes and rear suspension I spotted something on the gearbox that appears to be either a casting mark or a crack!!!!!!!
There is no oil leaking which would point to a casting mark.
The car has never had accident damage.
What are the comments?
I will enclose a photo later.

There was a recent thread on this. If this is what you are referring to, Wayne says it's ok.

Spider-webbing on case, casting artifact, or should I be really sad?

here's the photo - if you look at the web on the casing in the 9 o clock position - there is one web above it and the mark in question is just above that

I believe if you clean it off and look real close, you will find it to be in the casting and not a problem. I've seen it before on a friends '84.

Ug - I've never seen rust like that under a 911! The only car I've had with rust like that was my '54 bus, which came from Sweden!
