New CDI. Now, any follow up tasks?

Hi Pelicans:

After a successful end to my no-start saga, I am wondering if I should do anything else to tune the ignition system.

The car ran well all weekend. I am going to treat myself to new plugs, cap and rotor this eve and see if there is any difference. Will I need to check timing or fuel mixture?

Thanks for your input, Pelicans!

In the way back, Steve at Rennsport suggested I buy the MSD 6AL to replace my failing legacy Permatune box. He stressed a proper ground. Like those washers with teeth proper ground.

I see you have a Bosch CDI and not P-Tune or MSD. You do (did) not need to create a separate ground. I took my MSD right to the trans ground lug, FWIW.

I cannot see where a few hours of cleaning up and re-fastening the primary grounds on the car could offer any downside.

It's more general maintenance than anything else. That said, legacy Permatune is wimpy compared to the CDI. If a scruffy ground can cause a P-Tune to quit working, maybe the same anomaly will start to slowly whittle away at a CDI's effectiveness? Just talking, which is what I do.

Glad you got your car running well.
