Question 3.2 dme chip ID?

i recently opened up a dme that i bo't as rebuilt from Valley European (Van Nuys) long time ago

the chip appears to be aftermarket - there was a hand lettered sticker on top of the chip "3.2 OEM E54117"

The actual printing on the chip will never tell you what is on the chip. They are freely available multipurpose chips. What is programmed on it is the important part.

The sticker over the glass is there for a reason. If you shine enough UV light into the chip it will erase it. It takes a BUNCH of UV light but why chance it? Definitely don't leave it out where it is exposed to direct sunlight.

Because the chip is a 100% unknown it might be nice to get a stock chip to sell it with.

The only way to tell is to read the chip and compare its contents to the stock programs. That way I can tell if it's an exact copy of a stock chip or whether something (maps, rev limit) was modified.

Sometimes rebuilders remove an unknown chip and put a copy of a stock chip in. That's what the first part suggests. But the numbers don't ring a bell.
