Dansk Sport 92.511S tailpipe ID vs sound character

I have a Dansk 92.512S muffler, 2 in 1 out, supposed to be a sport muffler for the 3.2. It came with a ridiculously large weld on tip that I just could not bring myself to use. It just looked wrong to weld on a hugely oversized pipe and I assumed at the time that the reseller had sent me the wrong tailpipe by mistake. The local exhaust guy had some bends exactly matching the approximately 2"ID of the internal pipe in the muffler which was welded on. Over the years I got a few comments on my tiny pipe which has to some degree undermined my self confidence... but no worse than I can handle

In this configuration the muffler sounds rather feeble in the lower register, with almost no bass whatsoever. At full tilt it sounds like ripping a metal sheet, as a 911 should. Performance is good too as far as I can tell, there is possibly slightly less torque below 4000 rpm than a stock 2-1 muffler

Question is how much does the diameter of the exit pipe matter soundwise ?
I would like slightly more noise...
