911 speaker (Early) 1965-1977

I bought Blaupunkt Bremen for the '72 recently shipped from Lithuania. It was a European model found in some 911s, but not the Frankfurt with FM.

I found the original speaker wire inside the dash and it fit perfectly in the two small holes in the back of the Blaupunkt. It really is not obvious these two holes were speaker connections.

But after hooking it up to my original speaker, it did not work. My original speaker was toast. I searched the forum and there were solutions using two smaller speakers, but that seemed like an unoriginal fix.

Then I found Karmannkonnection in the UK off Ebay. What luck!

If you decide to go this route here's what you might expect.

A mail box fitting envelope with the following:

I should point out that the 97.00 is in GBP, not USD.

is the Bremen a mono or a stereo ?
if its a stereo you may have gotten a slightly better sound from the small twin speakers.
I went through this exercise several years ago with my '71 2,2 S.
These big oval speakers are readily available these days through some Euro vendors including Chrome London and Konigs Classics - a Becker specialist in Haan Germany.
I recently bought a pair of 914 specific speakers from Konigs and they are excellent +.

Cheers
Dennis.

If I had guess I'd say mono. I didn't take a photo before installing it, but the two holes look like these on the left.

It is a "z" so made in 1968-69, according to Der White
Blaupunkt Radios for 356 Porsches

The center speaker wire looks like this one and fits into those holes on the Bremen.

Thanks for those sites. I'm adding them here.

CHROMELONDON Vintage Classic Car Radios For Sale. BLAUPUNKT GRUNDIG BECKER PHILIPS RADIOMOBILE OEM

I suspect my speaker may have originally come from this site below and then was marked up when sold to me. Looks like I could have saved some money going directly to Koenigs-klassik.de
