911/997 breaks squeaking

I tracked my 997 for a couple of days. Now, two weeks since the event, I am hearing a squeak when I brake. I thought I read that this is from the pads getting glazed from the hard braking. The fix is to either sand the pads some, or, replace, from what I remember reading somewhere. Any suggestions which is the better way to go? Thanks
