16" wheels on 996 brakes!

Answer to a question which was not even asked:

Can you fit 16" wheels on 911 with 996 n/a brakes?

Specs on the wheels was 951 phonedial wheels 16" 7/8 inch width and ET23 on both. 205/60 225/50 studded wintertires . I will propably go with 205/55 and 225/50 in the future.

Rear fitment was no issues, allthough i need to put a ~25mm spacer to have nice looking fitment.

Front was more difficult but not a huge issue. 2mm spacer and little bit of grinding of the caliber. Nothing major.

Very nice car and great to have a 3.6 and 996 brakes. But WHY the God awful wheels? I would have been tempted to go with 17" and a bit more offset already on the wheels.

16" wheels with 996 breaks...no prob...no rubbing

I have 996 breaks on my 75 911s with 930 flares and 16" Etoile wheels with 930 offsets. Fits perfectly without any rubbing or shaving of the caliper.....thanks to Clint at Rebel S Racing in Morro Bay, CA. He did a great job with the Bilstein and Brembo upgrade.

The inside shape of the teledial wheels was not optimal. Im sure there is some wheels which fit w/o shaving.
Btw. What rotors are you using? Those are not stock 996 ?

Rebelracingproducts.com click on link above that says 'home'

Look them up and ask for Clint. He can tell you all the specifics. But I can say my car has never handled so well and everything fits under those 16" perfectly snug.

Jaskas, I really like your car. 964 spoiler? I love the subtle mods I see so far combined with no spoilers

Jaskas, is the 964 spoiler functional on your car or does it just stay down?

mines functional w a 12 v battery.I do have the autoswitch diagram to wire it.
The real benefit- The airflow with the 964 tail keeps the engine at or below 180 deg.

I have tried to combine parts from different eras to my car:
- Car from -87
- Engine from -97
- Brakes from - 01
- Rearlid from -92 ( its functional and helps a lot with cooling and high speed stability )

Very nice.. I want to do a 3.6 in my 75 911s one of these days, but not quite ready for that.
