Colorado Pelican drive through Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park
I was thinking a drive over Trail Ridge Rd through the park is in order for Saturday or Sunday morning, Sept. 12th or 13th. Any else agree? The plan is to start on the Grand Lake side 7 or 8 am and head over to Estes Park for breakfast/brunch/lunch at The Egg and I, getting there around 10-ish (depending on road obstacles).
Reply here or PM me to let me know: 1. If you're up for it 2. Which day works better 3. If you plan to skip the meal and head home for football instead. Broncos don't kick off until 2:25 pm on Sunday. |

Hello Dave,
I might consider coming up the canyon to meet you guys in Estes. I live right at the bottom on big Thompson Canyon on the outskirts of Loveland. If I get my 74 out of paint by then, I might even be able to introduce the new car.

Trail ridge drive...
I'm in...for Saturday or Sunday. Anybody have a condo in Winter Park? Be a lot easier to go up late in the afternoon, stay over night and get an early start from WP in the am.
Ernie is looking forward to an "Italian tune up". |

Spreading the word...
We need to hit up our friends that may be summer-complacent. There may even be some Ft Collins and Denver folks looking for a drive.

I drove from Boulder to Grand Lake and back today. I could possibly meet on the Estes side on Sunday. New to the forms and air cooled ownership, so it would be nice to meet some folks.

Sounds like an amazing time - wish I lived there! I took a motorcycle trip through that part of the country last year -- absolutely stunning place.

Wait - didn't the OP say drive from Winter Park to meet in Estes? I thought the folk from Denver area would drive up to Estes to meet at Egg & I. Are you suggesting we go to WP and back?? How about meet half way - at the Trail Ridge summit, then all go down to Estes?

I think the proposed drive is a loop up 70/40 and back down 34. If I still lived in Boulder County I would be in. But I'm almost in Ft Collins these days.
