Anyone mounted 993 race mirrors with tape only
I'm looking at these mirrors and I'm not keen on drilling holes in my window frames. has anyone mounted them on their car with just 3m tape?

I wouldn't. I mean, i have a wicker on my wing on my gt3 that is held on with 3m ceramic tape but it is carbon fiber and weights a few ounces, it stays on at 150+ mpg.
But a mirror.... |

Funny^^^...I had Ruf 935 mirrors mounted for years with 3m trim tape and never had an issue but I realize their "wind print" is smaller.

I think it depends on how flat and large (surface area) the mounting area on the mirror is.
There are some incredibly strong 3M double sided mounting tapes these days. Applied to 2 flat, clean, large surfaces the stuff is really, really strong. If there's as much surface area as the picture indicates, I think it could work. |

that's not going to work, that mirror is too big and heavy to be held on with tape
