Help: Best Way to Gap Speed Sensor?
I am having to replace my speed sensor. But before doing so, I believe when I originally replaced the sensor awhile ago (and the car has not run since) I crazily removed the sensor bracket and did not gauge it back properly. I want to do it right this time. I have read the posts on how to gap using a 0.8 washer. But crazily I do not know how to go about getting the correct washer as an aide.
Or if you guys have other suggestions on how to get the right spacing and gap for the sensors/bracket please let me know Thanks so much C |
There is a pretty large +|- on that setting
Check a washer out of the drawer, except for the waves spring steel washer, a 6 or 8 will be .8 thickness. Glue, bubble gum, etc will hold the washer til you get it against the wheel counter. Hold and tighten. You have to be correct at the other end because both sensors are same but read different info, so, if it doesn't start, switch connector wires on the tree. Bruce |
