Camber brace assembly question

I posted this question in another thread trying to diagnose a front end rattle when driving on rough roads. I noticed that the aftermarket Rennline camber strut/brace I have has the top nuts not screwed down all the way, and there is a big gap which I'm not sure should be there or not. based on the picture, should there be a gap as shown? I don't want to screw it down and mess up the alignment or something. Both sides of the car are equally gapped which is why I'm thinking it might be by design.

You're missing a spacer or something that certainly doesn't look right.

Try taking that top spacer off and flip it over looks like it could be upside down? You can take that nut off without changing alignment, the other 2 bolts will hold it in place.

I don't think so. Looks like you have rennline Monoball Camber Plates. 911 Front Monoball Camber Plates (Pair)-Rennline, Inc.

Narrow part of cone towards bearing allows for movement w/o rubbing.

So I talked with the manufacturer of the camber plates and they said the assembly looks right and as long as I can't rotate the bushing by hand, it should be good enough. So then I asked what is the recommended torque on that big nut on top. The guy wasn't very sure but said 50-80 ft lbs. That seems quite high. Anyways, I tried to achieve 50 ft lbs and realized the strut/shock just spun as I was turning the torque wrench. Is there a way to hold the threaded bolt or do I need to hold the shock down below? How do you set proper torque?
