I'm trying to find a replacement for the interior temperature sensor seen below.
![]() Long story short, my car's PO did a floor backdate, took out the center console, and relocated the defroster and hazard switches to the dash. ![]() ![]() He reinstalled the center console before he sold it to me, but now I'm staring at two empty holes and would like to restore it back to it's natural appearance. ![]() I've bought two used trim pieces off eBay for steal of a deal, but one of the pieces has this hole for the temp sensor. I couldn't find it in our host's catalog, perhaps someone has another source? I've read through the archives and I'm contemplating putting in a dummy switch, but would prefer to keep it simple. Any ideas would be much appreciated! Wes

First, do you have the automatic heating control? If so, there's a temperature sensor behind that little grille on the dash, along with a small fan to pull air through it. If all that's gone, you probably ought to buy the pieces used.
If you don't have automatic heat control, then your best bet is to replace the trim piece with a different one. JR |

I don't have automatic heat. I would have have opted for that piece of trim w/o the hole had it not been for the fact I got both pieces I needed for $50. I've seen the center trim piece alone run for $150!
Thanks for the response, Wes |

I know it's old post but I can't seem to find any info on this either.
Can the cover be purchased separately? |

If you are talking about the little round intake grille for the cabin temp sensor that's used in cars equipped with auto heat, yes, there is a separate part number for the grille. Look for part number 911.572.523.00.01c which will get you a black one for about $2.

![]() I have seen these in the classifieds, though. I'd put a WTB ad out in the classifieds.
