Speedway Victoria - any info?

My car came with this license plate frame. My wife's name happens to be Victoria and this helped me convince her to let me pick up my '83SC cab.

Any one know anything about it? Or where I can get another as this one is cracked?

Cheers,
Kurt

Believe that's now Porsche Centre Victoria.

The Vancouver Island pelicans might be able to shed more light.

Speedway Motors was the Volkswagen, and then VW/Audi/Porsche dealership in Victoria BC for the latter half of the 20th century. They used to be where the current Volkswagen Centre Victoria is, which is right in front of the Porsche Centre now.

You might be challenged to find another plate frame, it's been years since they changed names. The one you have is exactly like the one that's on my car, which they installed before they sold me the car in 2000, though the paint is fading from mine.

Cheers,

Interesting, I purchased my first car at Speedway VW Victoria, a Black 1981 VW Rabbit Diesel LS. The back window had a clear Speedway sticker full length across the bottom. Don't recall any Porsches on the lot back then. May have been some Audi's, long time ago, memories.

Thanks everyone! This is why I love this forum.

My car wasn't purchased there nor spent any time there as far as I know, unless one of the previous owners did a road trip there...

In any case, if anyone local is willing to stop by the Porsche center and let me know what license plate frames they have, that would be awesome.
