Matching engine id to VIN
Is there a simple way to source the matching engine id for a Porsche VIN beyond ordering the certificate of authenticity?

you can't get exact, just a range, by looking in the Red Book.

I called 1800PORSCHE and I asked for COA info. They said no, BUT they could answer YES or NO if you provide vin and engine number. They had to take my info and I got a call back from super secret level 3 manager person who confirmed I was numbers matching.
