Plating Emblem??

Anybody out there chrome plated their emblem - 911SC in my case? I bought a new rear deck emblem and it blends in with my black car, aside from the emblem being well hidden up under the tail? Can these be chrome plated? How do you think this will look? Those that have done this what can I expect to pay?

I have a black SC as well, but the emblem is silver just on the top surface. I think what may be a viable option would be to get a silver paint marker and apply it only to the top surface. Alternatively you may be able to take it to a screen printing shop and have them just screen the top surface with silver. Just a thought.

Try some silver paint - that should work well. The plastic can be plated, but I think it will crack in a few years - have a few plated at the same time...

You can have the emblem copper plated (or brass plated) then chrome plated. This should cost no more than $30.00 done right.

The emblem appears to be some form of metal - aluminum or pot metal - not plastic Anybody have any experience how well this stuff takes a plating? I was quoted $25-40 by a local plater.
