Another Newbie question - steering wheels!

I've always had stock wheels - now have a '74 911 and want to get rid of ugly stock wheel. Stock is 400 mm and most replacements seem to be around 350/360 mm, but with no power steering, will these be too small?

Thanks!

I can't stand them that small as they block the view of the gauges. 380mm is ideal for me.

Like the 380mm harder to find

If you are tall like me (6' 4") a little smaller wheel gives you a tad more leg room.

350mm is fine for me. The only time greater effort is noticeable is while parking.

My car came with a 380mm wheel, I changed it for a 370mm Prototipo, and then I installed a 350mm Jackie Stewart momo. I love the 350mm wheel. It blocks some of the speedo, but I rotate it so that up to 100mph is visible. Like froggert said, the only time it takes any kind of effort is when parking. Once in motion, you don't notice it at all.

I do not feel that the smaller wheel requires significant additional effort. The visibility issue can be mitigated by rotating gauges or using the J-West offset spacer. I did both.

Like javadog, I find 380mm to be great, especially with an eccentric spacer. Mine is an Abarth, but I think the 380mm version is now NLA, at least here in the USA.

I'm a big fan of the Momo Prototipo myself. It is 350mm, but I have small hands so it feels great for my hands. I know more than a few Pelicans run it as well as the Mod 7. If you want to check them out and see what they look like you can view them here: Momo Steering Wheels - PelicanParts.com. :)

Here is a before and after with the jwest eccentric spacer and a 350mm Prototypo.
