Fuel door latch

I was putting on my front left fender today and I couldn't get the cable to feed through to the fuel door latch. I know NOW that the wire feeds through a rubber membrane. But for some reason I thought that it was stuck on the back of the latch. When I loosened the bolt that held the latch on, the latch flew apart.

I can't see how to get this thing back together without breaking my fingers. The width of the spring doesn't look wide enough to fit in the holes of the latch. Am I missing something? I can't find it in the Pelican catalog so I assume that they are NLA.

FWIW, I managed to get the part back together. There is a cotter pin (that I forgot about) that fits the two large pieces together. The hard part is trying to figure out how the spring goes between the two parts. After about 20 min of trial and error, I got lucky. Quite fiddly....

I am missing the rigid tubing piece, so I will be calling the Parts Specialist.

Would the rubber piece fit in the top of the part on the right?

I imagine that part is NLA. My car was recently painted and I suspect that several bits and pieces were "lost." That was probably one of them. I might be able to fashion something that would function similarly.
