Clutch stuck 1980 911 SC

Went to start my SC after it sat in our garage for a month or so (long story) the clutch would not disengage
I finally got it loose after warming up the motor a bit and then starting car in gear and stomping on clutch pedal. Not something I want to do.
I think I know what's going on - would like to hear the thoughts of the group.
TIA
Wayne

Garage
Not unusual for that to happen after sitting for a period of time. Does it work okay now?

Moisture will make it stick together. Rust and pus .
Perhaps the input did not get a smear of grease at assy, or you went through a puddle last time out, and did not get time to dry B4 shut dwn.
Its not epic .

If your garage is damp, consider investing in a dehumidifier. Back when I lived in the Pacific NW, I had the stuck clutch problem often until I bought a good sized dehumidifier. Also kept my tools from rusting.

It is a relatively dry attached garage
Thanks for the thought though
