Stomski Valve Lash Tool question

I'm a little embarrassed to ask, but what is the long black bolt for?

It's a spare head stud for you to use when you pop off the valve cover and find yours have broken.
Just kidding of course... I have the Kirk valve adjustment tool and it doesn't have that extra stuff so I don't know what that is. No directions included?

Looks like a hold down bolt. Does it fit thru the center of the silver part??

Mike, double nut the stud out next to the rocker on the valve. Now this bolt will support the swivel and gauge One fixture for c2 6 mm and one for earlier 8mm
Install the dial gauge and you can rock the valve and check the movement
Just for info, the thread pitch on the valve adjuster is 1mm

Anybody know if a good but not expensive small face digital dial indicator for use with this? A standard size gauge can be a bit bulky when using the stomski tool..

hi Bruce
I figured the aluminium silver coloured piece is for my 964.. the brass coloured one is for older cars with the larger stud diameter.

I still can't visualise what the bolt is for though! my bad.
It does only partially thread through the top of each of the silver & brassy pieces...

Steven has good info-videos for a lot of his products...

I haven't watched this one in a while, so not positive it covers your original question...
