Interior rear view mirror - day/night selector broke
Has anyone ever had the day/night switch on the rear-view mirror break, and is it repairable?
I was driving the other night, flipped the switch, and heard a click. Now the selector dangles freely and the mirror vibrates with road bumps etc. Can this thing be fixed or am I in for a new $130 rear view mirror? Thanks!

I just had a new windshield installed by Mayo Performance & forgot my mirror (day/night) is broken. So I'm in the same situation. Waiting for answer-great question! Terry |

I opted for new, but be careful!
Hi Universeman- I literally just changed to our hosts $89 unit tonight due to a broken day/night hinge! Upon examining the old mirror, I can't really deduce how the hinge could have been fixed (sealed unit/danger of cracking the glass). Easy install and the new piece is a perfect fit. That being said, I hit my index finger on the metal mounting base when tapping out the old mirror. I created a major flap of bloody skin and flesh. I have heard tell that whisky is great antiseptic, thus I will now begin drinking.

As an aside, our hosts $89 piece was an exact match- and I chose a Minneapolis Vodka (Norseman) instead.
