83 SC Clutch Engagement Point
Hey All,
I've been driving the new to me 83 more lately, and I've noticed that the clutch doesn't engage until I'm at least half way out on the pedal, maybe more like 2/3 out... During the PPI the well regarded mechanic told me he adjusted the clutch for me while he was under there. Maybe this is normal operation, and Im just getting used to it??? I'm more used to clutches grabbing sooner with release of the clutch pedal. When starting in first I'm spending a lot of time releasing dead space before getting any traction. Thoughts? Thanks, Bryan |

Normal, enjoy - saves you from depressing to floor when shifting or double clutching

The engagement point can be adjusted by adjusting the cable at the transmission. I had my ‘84 adjusted to mimic the same engagement point as my 914-6 conversion. The mechanic had me sitting in the car up on an alignment rack as he adjusted it to my liking.
