CIS intake reducing rubber sleeves
 

Hi all:
I am considering retrofitting a newer SC airbox (Small Port) to an earlier set of SC intake runners (Large Port). Use of the newer style airbox is set in stone, the runners are in flux. Has anyone ever run across a set of rubber sleeves which convert from 44mm to 38MM (I think those are the diameters of the rubber airbox to runner sleeves I need)? It is an EFI conversion.

I completely forgotten to ship the 34-mm ID intake runner (...2r) I offered you. I have them in the garage right now. Do you still need them? Been distracted with my on going hydraulic tensioners problem. The large intake runners are 38-mm ID (...4R). PM me. My bad. Thanks.

Those silicone sleeves look like a reasonable approach.

Question: Why use the later SC airbox? Is it a matter of availability, or is there another reason? (Am curious about this one; have contemplated the EFI conversion on my CIS for a while.)

I have a late CIS airbox, already modified. I have a turbo, so the outlet size at the airbox doesn't matter. If I use small port runners, I have to port match. My current airbox is Webb stainless steel, which is actually neither big nor small port; something in between, IIRC. As I said, one of a kind.

BTW, the silicone reducers are too long to work.

As an alternative in case you can't find "adapter sleeves": How about building up the small OD to match? I could see finding a piece of aluminum tubing the right size and epoxy/JB-Weld to the small OD, then use the 44mm sleeves.

Gates 26391 rubber sleeves may work.
Small port airbox outlet OD=1.555", smal;l port runner OD=1.525"
Big port airbox (Webb SS box)=1.650" OD, big port runner OD=1.770"
What I need is a big port airbox to cut up.

I might have the section of the CIS air box used in EFI conversion that I cut some time ago. The problem is remembering which box it is stored. If it is not located, there are several other CIS air boxes to play around.
