extra/missing wires under 73 dash

ok I just installed a new turn signal switch and headlight switch in my 73T, everything matched up pretty well i just have a few wires/issues to sort out. any help or ideas.

on the turn signal harness-
i have a short black wire about 3" (female connector) with nothing to connect to.

on the headlight switch- terminal numbers-
56- i dont have a yellow wire anywhere under the dash?
75- only red wire with one extra slot on the switch.
58- nothing connected to switch. / nor listed in diagrams

nobody replaced these recently?

i guess im gonna have to throw the battery in and watch for sparks and smoke.:eek:
