Appreciate the good wishes. The engine had a little under 60k miles.

I had a very interesting conversation with a friend about the success of my project. As I was excitedly describing the joy of the first startup, I described my level of anxiety when my son turned the key...as I spoke to him I told him,

"I had turned the engine over multiple times for 15-20 seconds with the fuel pump disengaged by removing the fuse #3 of Fuse Box 1. I repeated until there was noticeable deflection of the oil pressure gauge. I then returned the fuse and instructed my son to turn the key to the 'on' position to allow charging of the fuel system. I then checked for fuel leaks and there were none." I went on, "I then told my son to go ahead and engage the starter...and then, on the first try, the engine..."

He interrupted me, stopping my story dead in its tracks and he finished my sentence, "...the engine did what it was designed and built to do."

I said, "yeah...but that sure takes some of the luster off of how I view my role in the process!"

In all seriousness, I know that there are many, many things that can be screwed up while a newbie is wrenching on these cars, but when you get right down to it, they are mechanical systems that are going to work so long as we don't do something outside the box!

Sweet! The NJ cold seems to be setting in and it's probably time for me to pull my 3.0 and get some things addressed. Nice work.

Yes, it was a bit chilly this AM...I plan to drive it all winter, so long as there's not a lot of snowy/salty mess.

What a mess...

Now I have the brake sensor indicator light illuminated...I removed all four wheels and checked the pads. All pads have lots of meat left on them; however, I found the driver side front brake pad wear sensor disconnected.

I plugged it back in but the sensor light remains illuminated.

Oy, there's always something with these cars...

Circuit is severed somewhere which will throw the light.
