Question About Corbeau Classic Seats
I was looking at front seats for a backdate and noticed the Corbeau Classic seats. They are very inexpensive but also stationary (do not tilt forward).
![]() My question is, does anyone have any first hand experience with these seats? Are they as cheap in quality as their price? Is there enough room to get into the back seat of a 911 with these stationary front seats installed?

You can mount them on sliders or get tilt brackets for better access to the back seats.

I ordered a set of these and returned them immediately. They were the size of a child's car seat. Like they are made for a miniature car and person.... Quality was good, but the size is phenomenally small. They are supposed to be ok up to 36" waist, but i can't imagine them being comfortable for anyone over a 32" waist. They are also short. The head rest hit me at the bottom side of my neck. Find a set and sit in them before you buy.

Interesting feedback. Thank you both.
I didn't know they made tilt sliders and I thought they looked very small but read the 36" waist thing. I guess any time a seat comes with a waist size the buyer should be careful ![]()

I used these in a 1970 911T because I loved the classic racer look. I've since sold the car.
I am 5'11" and 195 lbs +/-. I fit in them fine but they lack lateral support. They only hug you around the hips, not any higher. I also fabricated my own mounting brackets allowing me to mount them in a slightly lower and more laid back position. They were on sliders allowing child access to the back by squeezing through. I have since found a single cheap corbeau classic II on craigslist, i never mounted it but just sitting in it on my garage floor I can tell you its MUCH better. I fit in the seat and it has more lateral support while still having that classic look. My current project has recaro's, which I may keep, but if I am still longing for that classic look I would choose the Corbeau Classic II. here is a pic of them in my car http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads25/911_interior21468954430.jpg Last edited by charwood77; 10-25-2016 at 05:05 PM.. |

What about the other retro seats that they don't offer in the U.S. ? I think there's 4 others we don't get over here. Does anyone have a source on these? I've got my eye on the Alpine..

For the most part, any "classic" bucket seat like the ones shown from Corbeau, Cobra, etc. will be small. So if you are in the 6 ft range and above and most importantly, if your waist is above 34" look elsewhere.. I have the cobra cs seat, I'm 6-3, waist of 33 and when I first sat in them I was like, oh boy what have I done. My GF, on the other hand loves them. I have gotten used to them though, but going from a reclining seat to these is tough. No way I would use these style seats in a daily driver of more than 40 miles.
GTS seats look like they are bigger. You can buy sliders that actually unhook and tilt/fold forward for some bucket seats which makes getting into the back a breeze. Not much goes on in the back of my car so I could really care less, slide them forward and its doable even with a roll bar. You can buy that Alpine seat from the same company I bought my Cobra cs seats. I got them from GSM, and it was way cheaper buying from them, and that includes shipping as well, then I could find them in the states. A lot of the these manufacturers use the same sliders so don't go buy new ones if say you have a corbeau slider and want a Cobra seat. Test them first, might match right up, might have to drill a few holes in the part that mounts to the floor board.
