I want to fit these to my narrow bodied car but they don't seem to go on flush with the wheel arch line when the bottom edge is level with the rubber sidestrip on my car. Does the bottom edge go above the rubber strip or underneath it? Do you get the arch side of the gaurd lined up right and hope the bottom edge matches up? Any close up pics would be appreciated!
Thanks. |

Remove the rocker end cap (2 philips head screws) and pull a bit of the rubber trim away. The best bet for knowing how to put it on is to look at some photos....I'll try to send you one.
Before afixing, make sure you wash the area and remove any wax. I washed the area with a little ivory liquid soap. Then, make sure the entire area is completely dry. Line up the bottom of the guard with just under the rocker molding. The edge by the wheel well should be just before the curve. Affix from bottom up, making sure there are no air bubbles. I used a clean shop rag and as I affixed, I rubbed upward to make sure it was evenly affixed. That's it. There's really no secret to it and it looks sharp! ------------------ Josh Black on Black '84 Carrera |

Hey guy's you can get the Magnetic type as well.. which are great when waxing the car the pull right off! just an option rather than glueing them on.

Eric, where can you find those magnetic ones?
I made the sticky ones fit pretty well. Luckily, the material "gives" quite a bit and you can "make it" follow the wheel arch. Mine did not match the arch perfectly in their natural shape. BTW, replacing the rocker panel rubber really makes a sharp difference. Takes a little patience, tho. Bob Sauerteig '87 Coupe |

You can get the magnetic ones from www.magbra.com
I have them on my 1988 and love them. Have driven over 100MPH with them and they won't come off. I have the whole mag bra setup. |

Mike-
You might try a heat gun to remove them to slowly peel them off. You will most definitely need to use some form of adhesive remover once they are off as well. -Eric |

Guys - I have the magbra ones - I recommend these os you can take them off to wak or show the car. I also have driven over 120mph and they stayed on,
... Thinking about the full set up, have a normal colgan bra for the front and mirrors at the moment. I have converted a few people to these !! ------------------ D ! .... ('82 SC Targa) My SC Page: geocities.com/p911scuk |
