Start from the beginning........
Wout,
Do you have a wiring diagram for '80SC? Find one and start reviewing the section of the FP relay back to ignition switch. It is imperative you understand how the FP relay and outlet work to do a good troubleshooting analysis. This was the reason I suggested to read DKLever48's posts. Test light technique works for me all these years. But if you prefer the multi tester, that fine too. Keep us posted. Tony |
Hi,
I've purchased a TL and these are my results. test method A (testing power/voltage, one end of the probe connected at the ground, probe testing the terminals) - with ignition OFF 87a..........no light 87............no light 86............no light 85............no light 30............no light - with ignition ON 87a..........no light 87............no light 86............no light 85............no light 30............no light test method B (testing ground contact, one end (+) side battery, probe testing the terminals) - with ignition OFF 87a..........no light 87............light 86............no light 85............no light 30............light - with ignition ON 87a..........no light 87............light 86............no light 85............no light 30............light Correct me if I'm wrong, but can I conclude from the results that the relais doesn't receive power when the ignition switch is turned over? Or doesn't this mean anything as there is no reaction with test method A? Thnx |
Or is the Ignition on, really trying to start with someone elso trying to crank the engine?
