Seatbelt compatibility - 964 belts in my 911SC?
Hi all,
My car was completely stripped out as a track car. I'd like to return it to somewhat of a street-able machine. Will 964 front seatbelts work for me or do I need to stay in the 911SC/3.2 Carrera world? For reference I have a 1982 SC with center mounted seatbelt receivers (mounted on the floor pan rather than to the seat). Thanks! |

I put 964 belts in my 1973
They bolted right in. I used all 964 hardware (belts, receivers etc) come to think of it though, my belts are bolted to my racing seat brackets

I installed '86 sports seats into my '78 SC based RST hot rod build. I think that the '78 and '82 are the same as are the '86-88 seats. Seat base on '78 tub is about 1" higher and base more upright at rear. I deleted the seat centre tunnel seat bucket setup. I had to re-drill rear mounting points and reinforce the inside rear rail base with bracket to floor to handle the seat belt buckle to seat base arrangement in the '86 seats. BTW, loosing 1" in headroom and sitting higher than you are used to my be an issue for some folks.
Hope this helps. Johan
