What size fuchs for a 69 911t
 

Hello Pelican
My car came we steel wheels....
But, I want to convert over to fuchs...
What size would be proper?
and maybe more important....what would look best on the car.?

6x15ET36 x4 would be period correct oe fitments
7x15ET23.3 x4, or just x2 in back have been fitted.

w/ 7x15 in back you want to watch tire height, when I fitted these before adding Carrera flares, a 215/60 x15 tires rubbed up in the wheel arch at stock height w/ stock suspension. A shorter tire and or stiffer suspension would alleviate this, a lowered car would exacerbate it.

ok I understand the 6 x 15
but what does ET 36 x 4 mean?
and also
I see a guy has a set of Flat 6 for sale right now...those ok?
Deep 6 .....expensive ..?
So any 15 inch 6 inch or narrower?

the stock 6x15 for your car would have had an ET36, the ET describes how far the wheel center-line is from the hub mounting face. x4 means 4 wheels

w/o seeing the wheels or knowing the width and ET it's only a guess as to fitment

There were different versions of the Fuchs 6x15 ET36 wheel made depending on year, the ones on my '72 were tube type and I believe 'deep ' but I lost all the pics years ago, sometime around '72 was the change over


yes, sometimes the 6x15 ET36 are described as 'deep', these were the older versions I think they all had 901 part #s but would need to look that up and sometimes as 'flat, these are the newer versions w/ 911 part#s

A '69 would have had the deep wheel. Actually, it probably would have been a 5-1/2"x15" wheel. The 6" wheels look better, but they came later. The change from the deep to the flat wheel occurred in 1971. Cars built in the first part of the year would have had the deep wheels, later cars had the flat wheels.
