WHere can I get a torque wrench calibrated locally?
Does anyone know of a place that one might get a torque wrench calibrated locally? (Like a NAPA, or something?)
Thanks, |
I think Walmart does that. They have trained certified Porsche specialist on staff. Very helpful people.

Sorry that I can't be of much help, but I had always heard that parts trucks did this, when I asked the guy in the Snap-on truck, he said no, and wasn't sure where.

John, you almost had me going there for a second...

Hi Chris, If you wanna send it to California I know a place in Sacramento

I had to take a shot at wally world auto division. I went for an oil change once (not for the porsche) and I think I ended up with a front end alignment. Not a pleasant exchange of words after their fine work was completed. "HEY, WATCH OUT FOR THE FALLING PRICES THOUGH"

Look up in the yellow pages for laboratories. They very often have sources for calibration.
Good luck, David Duffield |
Aviation mechanics must have their wrenches tested regularly. Often there is a place near or at airports, even small airports. The folks here test them but do not adjust. They just certify, or reject. but then, your wrench may not need adjusting. My three $13 Harbor Freight wrenches did not need adjusting. They were within aircraft spec. (4% +/-)

Superman covered it. The airport.
Also, Griot Garage has a mail in service. |
Chris, I'll bring a couple or mine on Saturday - we can at least check them against one another.
|
Ray, great idea. I checked my two together and their within a few ft/lbs... but good to have an external source too.
