Torque value for CIS (930/SC) manifold stud?

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to find the torque value for the 12 nuts that fasten the intake to the heads on a '77 930.

The nuts attach to studs passing through the intake, phenolic injector blocks, and into the heads. I think the value for the 930 would be the same one used on SCs...can anyone help with a reference or the correct value?

I must just be missing it - can't find it in the shop manuals or spec book. http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/dom.gif
Thanks,
Colin

i've never seem any torque value for the 930 intakes. they're usually quite loose and i just tighten them up by hand when doing a tuneup. the studs are real long, so they would probably be stretched if you used SC values.

Okay John, Thanks! I'll just snug them and keep an eye on them

Colin, Phenolic=plastic? I'd imagine that the spec is real low torque if there is one, (spec).

Yep, plastic spacers, about 2" high, which the injectors screw into. They look pretty tough, but I'll keep the torque low. :)

those spacers often have cracks in them, against the heads. some quite large. they also should be resurfaced if reused. the ends get quite irregular. you can get billet aluminum ones, but they're pricey.

Didn't know they had to be resurfaced...I will do that. Thanks again John.

I have checked very carefully for cracks and they look OK in that area.
