Anybody know the used parts place from the 912E episode? If they gave a name, I missed it. Looks like he has lots of goodies.

Yeah, that'd be my guess too seeing as they film the US version right down in that neck of the woods in Huntington I believe.

If you are referring to the 2016 episode featuring a 1976 912E, it is on at 10:00 central today. About 50 min from now.

Watched it last night. It never really came out and said. But the gentlemen had Einmalig on his T-shirt.

I pushed the record button when Ed was tearing down the FI. I'll see if it went back to the beginning. I think all we'll get is a portion of the name on the building. Once again I don't think the name was ever said.

That looks like the same place that Wayne Carrinni visited on an episode of chasing classic cars. I know it was in California but I can't remember the name.

Glad you found the source for the parts. Two comments/questions on the show. Why didn't they straighten the antenna? How did they change the windshield and rear window trim from black to silver? Did they R & R the glass off camera? Dave

I missed today's show, hope the episodes are available online. I love watching Ed, but have a hard time when they sell the car at a 'profit' after Ed putting in an amazing amount of time on free labor. Then again, a lot of us at just as guilty of not considering our time in the garage working on our toys.

+1 Einmalig on the parts. The "parts guy" is Brian Famer the owner of Einmalig. What's up with the 912E market? I'm a big fan of the show and love the guys, but I call BS on this episode. Can you really buy a "needs work" 912E for $25K and think you got a great deal then turn around and sell it for 911 money?

Did anyone notice that when he was test driving the 912... the RPM was stuck at 0? Seems they ended up fixing more than what they made it seem.

I do miss the content of the early shows where they take a mass produced sports car for cheap, tidy it up and sell it on. The newer ones are much more complex restorations than those first seasons. I like how this year they are giving the out of pocket costs (like they always have done) plus the number of hours spends doing the work,

Just watched the show. WOW! I see Excellence has it priced at $45-65,000 this year. I think they spent more than 24 hours working on that car. If it was me, closer to 100 hours. When I was looking for my Porsche in 2002, my neighbor has his 912E for sale for $6,000. Drove ok but would need some love. Spoke with a local wrench about it. He told me that there are a bunch of 911E unique parts on the drive train that were NLA. I passed on it to get a 1967 912 and then 3 months later (after the 912 was totaled by a school bus), my current 1973.5 911T

It was a nice car but the sale price was 911 money - I wouldn't have paid that.

I watched it last night - very happy they picked a 912. Did anyone catch when Mike pulled his phone out and showed what I think was "his 912"? Or maybe it was really a 911. Not sure I would have put the a/c components back in the car. That crankshaft pulley "spider" looked like trouble to me. Type IV engine from a VW 411 swapped into a 72 Fastback. Tranny was from a Type 2 bus.

I believe that for the most part the show is staged and scripted. I have been in the car business for just about 30 years and have never heard of any sales negotiation go as smoothly as they do on the show or at the end of the show when they are driving the car they just finished, the engine and tire noise don't match up with the screen shot. I do very much like the middle part of the show when Edd tears the car apart and puts it back together. Wednesday's episode when he reindexed the torsion bars simplified the process. I've read about it so many times and tried to picture it in my mind but when I actually saw it being done, it completely clicked. In my opinion so many really cool things about that show, I could do without the beginning or end part where Mike's experiences are not reality.
