Elephant racing universal oil line clears G50?

See below - Chuck's website says no, but Wayne said all he had to do was grind down one rib? I tend to believe him. Anyone else with G50 experience disagree? Would like to do this preemptively while I have the stock HEs in while I prep for a SSI like change on my 87.

From Quicksilver (Wayne):

"One suggestion on how to do this project...

I would really suggest that you consider using the Elephant Universal Crossover Pipe. It will allow you to switch between early and late exhaust systems without changing the oil lines. Seeing that you have the 915 transmission it is fairly easy. You just need to lower the engine a bit and it goes over the trans. Once it is in you will never have to touch it again.

(On my G50 car I had to grind down a rib on the bell housing but it was easy and was well worth it to get the ability to switch out exhausts for smog check and whatnot.)"

Why not make it the way it is suppose to be and install the correct oil pipe? The elephant racing website specifically states he universal pipe is not a G50 compatible part. Let's say you do grind down one rib on the bell housing and the heat from the grinder weakens the case and it cracks? Or, what happens if you grind it just enough to make it fit but after installation it rubs, over the course of time it rubs a hole in the tube and oil leaks into the header. I'm sure you will have people say it will be okay but if I were looking into doing something on my car and the supplier specifically stated "does not fit G50 transaxle" I do not think I would be trying to modify my car to make it fit.

Thanks Mike that's why I'm asking. Appreciate your perspective.

If you don't want to cut your tranny, I may be able to help.

I have never done an "Up n Over" Oil Hose for a G50 model before, but it shouldn't be too difficult.

Here are a few I have made for others:

This might require a test fitment before a final crimp but I am willing to give it a try.

No fit, no charge.
