Engine Bay Wire ID
Has anyone else run in to the the following wire/group of wires? I need help IDing them before removal. Car is a 1975 911s.
1. Long bundle of cables.. exit point seems to be original and from the firewall (highlighted in orange) ... perhaps this is a power cable for the Blower/AC that is currently removed from my car? Wires are cut so no connector is present at the moment. ![]() 2. Poorly connected ground wire with two wires (brown color) wire in to the engine bay from the top of the engine compartment.. perhaps stereo wiring? This wire was cut and poorly connected using solely electrical tape! ![]() Waiting to fix these and a few other electrical nightmares before I can get the engine back in. Thanks ! -Edward |

im in this same exact boat right now with my 75S. the wires in the second shot that run up above the deck hinge are as Dp states are rear window defrost likely. ive got a thread started this past weekend looking for assistance on deleting the rear defrost, and looking for guidance in thinning the heater blower motor wiring out due to back dated heat. not much help other than timmy2 who shared photos of all the 75 wiring diagrams. do a search for "heater delete" for his drop box with photos contributed to my thread.

That's definitely the defrost grommet. It's a handy place to run a wire for a third brake light.
