1975 porsche 911s starting problems distributor current

Hi Guys, so i faced a huge no. Of drawback trying to get rid of the bucking and starting and backfiring etc. finally got the the car to start and idle and drive smoothly after replacing the spark plugs (NGK) however i took the car for a spin couple of times and noticed the car was again developing the bucking and engine not starting without giving gas to the pedal then started to die and finally came to a point it would not atart but cranked.. so i tried different tests and dound out that when i pulled the ignition plug out of the distributor and keep it away from the distributor around 20mm the car idles without the need of holding the gas pedal as soon as i plug it back it dies. My guess is either change the coil because the one i have now is an aftermarket cheap coil and mayb i could change it to an MSD one? Or try adding a condensor to regulte the current. Also i guess since i had new spark plugs in the car ran fairly well but as they got dirty the current deliver to them was not good enough to cause a spark. What do you guys suggest?

I had similar problem in my 74, turned out to be the rotor. Filing the contacts did not work but replacement did.

I have a new rotor bought 2 weeks ago. You reckon the cap could be the culprit?

probably not but what brand did you get, bosch?

pull the plugs and take a look at them, see if they are fouled. what is the plug gap.

if you are getting spark, no t the coil.
