A lot of questions. First you should not have an accumulator with carbs.

Did you buy this car with the carbs or did you install them? The reason l ask, is it helps if you know the history of the conversion.

Does it have the stock fuel pump? You should have a pressure regulator set at 3.5 psi, supplying fuel to the carbs. I can't imagine how it ran with an accumulator.

Can you describe the fuel setup, and take some close up pictures so others can see what you see?

Trying to look at your setup in the picture. It looks like it was done right.

Where was the accumulator you removed?

I don't know what a fuel pressure accumulator is, but you shouldn't have one for your carb set-up. You should have a fuel pump that supplies 1 to 4 PSI of fuel pressure and fills the bowls on the carbs.

Carbs are hard to start when cold. If the car has sat for a few days or more the fuel evaporates out of the carbs and you should run the fuel pump for 20 seconds or so before trying to start the car. You need to pump the gas pedal to squirt fuel into the cylinders before the engine will start when it's cold. Practice will show how much you need to pump to start the car. You can also pump the gas pedal while cranking. You might need to keep some gas pedal down from idle in order to keep the engine running for 20 seconds or so after starting.

First order of business immediately following resolution of this issue...

Do yourself and engine a loving favor...ditch the garbage FRAM filter.

Happy motoring

That would be a vacuum reservoir for a power brake car.

Vacuum manifold

This is a link to a vacuum manifold I found in the past...there are various ones out there, but this looks similar to the one in the picture above.
