Engine lid catch adjustment

911sc 1982

*** new upper spring catch for engine lid- how do I adjust??

Ok , may be a silly question but I have tried
To adjust with a screw driver!
It's a new part from Porsche and Ive broken
A screwdriver already.

Come on WHAT AM I DOING WRONG- surely it's easy.

Can someone help?

You have to loosen the big nut first. Then use screwdriver to adjust length, then re-tighten the nut to lock it in place.

That latch has to be positioned correctly. If you install it incorrectly and shut the lid it will jam and be almost impossible to get it open. It has a slight angle to it that needs to face forward.

I wondered why there was a big nut.
All adjusted and working great.
Fitted to a ducktail

Thanks john
