Cayman seats for early 911?
I’m looking to upgrade the seats for my ‘68 911. I’ve found some manual seats from a Cayman on eBay. Will they fit, and how much trouble would that be? I have a welder and could fabricate some mounts if necessary.
Thanks for your input! |

maybe this would work: https://www.ogracing.com/brey-krause-r-9043-seat-adapter-porsche-oem-996-997-seats-to-993-964?gdffi=f750fff311dd4669a43b6ef4a13d6e00&gdfms=3FD27AC3F45A45C2ADCB8C76801EEC3A&msclkid=4e93578a7d231181fcbf0bd38c228f96&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Shopping%20PLA&utm_term=1100007827587&utm_content=Brey%20Krause
should be possible, but may require something custom machined up.

save the original seats
IMHO. Save the original seats just in case.

I heard they set up pretty high in an older 911. I wonder why the link says for 964/993 and not older 911s? They should be the same back to 75 or so...

I put some in my car. The seat backs are higher but fit. I’m 6’-2” and I fit fine.
I used the stock 1977 seat mounts but needed to cut away some of the new seat mounts and drill new mounting holes. The seats I used fit into an interval center console so without one the tilt mechanism is exposed. You can order the cover for the other side and reversed it and it fits to cover the mechanism completely. Take a look under the new seats and this will make more sense. |

My car is a 1977 not sure about the difference with it and your car, you need to look at that.
