Front torsion bar end caps won't come off

Guys,

I was attempting to the lower the front of my 78 911 today and I maxed out the adjustment screw. After reading some post I learned that I needed to re index the torsion bar end caps on the spline. I took the screw all the way out but I can't get the cap off. Any tips would be great. Thanks.

There's probably some rust in the splines that is holding the cap on. I would give it a few taps with a hammer to break it loose.

I figured it out. You need to jack up the front so both tires are off the ground. This relieves pressure off the torsion bars and the caps will come off fairly easy. Then you will be able to re index the caps in order to lower the front end further.

Which gives you more toe-in in the process.
