It's just something a came across while searching for cars in Germany. Apparently it is an original car that has been fully restored, using a lot of RSR-parts.
It's for sale at Auto Select Markus Gatscher: www.gatscher.de www.auto-select.org ![]() |

You'd rather have a 993 Twin Turbo or a RUF Turbo than an original '73 Carrera RS? Those cars are on their way down value wise, while this particular '73 RS is worth about 10 times what it cost new.
There are very few true fans of Porsche 911's that don't immediately acknowledge that the '73 Carrera RS is the coolest 911 ever built. EVER! Read every magazine article that compares the original Carrera to the best modern 911's that Porsche has been able to come up with since. The '73 Carrera always walks away the winner. The 993 Twin Turbo is a very cool car, heck I think I've seen 3 of them on the road this week. An original Carrera RS is close to unobtanium!!! I can't imagine debating between the choice of a 993 Twin Turbo, a RUF or an original Carrera? Every time I hear or say the words original Carrera RS, I hear a chorus of angels in the background. ![]() All Porsche 911 owners must bow and tremble in the presence of an original Carrera RS ![]() Last edited by racea911; 01-10-2003 at 09:38 PM.. |

For that money, one would be tempted to look for a Carrera with all four cams

Oh you big bumpered guys.... pretending you don't get it.
![]() Put those chunky big bumpered cars on a track with a "CARRERA RS" (there! I just heard the angels sing again!) and your cars will be trying to lose weight faster than Jared on his Subway diet. ![]() Just kidding of course! |

RS 2,7 ah yeah. You're right. It's magical. But this one isn't 100% original....it's highly modified, 354HP. I'd prefer an original one with 210HP or perhaps an original RSR instead. I think it's "wrong" to modify a rare collectors item like the RS 2,7. We're supposed to preserve them for their historic value. If you want to go fast build a replica and keep the genuine stuff for concours.

agree...keep the completely original stuff for the concours, HOT ROD THE REST! ha ha...I like the car, just not the price.
Eric, that spare is cool...how good would a cell phone do you in a dead space with no signal? I know where ya are coming from with the weight issue...but a little security and a few pounds up front could never hurt! So do you think I will need wheelie bars? ha ha!
