Just unplug the 02 sensor. It will run smoother and cooler. This will peg the frequency valve at 60% open. Reset the mixture once you disconnect and you are good to go. Do not disconnect the computer or relay under the passenger's seat...they will be req'd to hold the frequency valve at 60% default.
Search the archives....there are many posts from myself and others with regard to how and why this is a good thing to do on the CIS K-Lambda 80-83's. Note: YOU CANNOT DO THIS WITH ANY 911 OTHER THAN THE 80-83 SC!!!! (I say this b/c every time this topic comes up you get 10 replies saying..."I tried this in my 86 to try and solve such and such problem and it wouldn't run") The O2 sensor system was an "add on" to the CIS K-basic. It functions better without it...even still passes smog tests. Does not work with 84- pulsed injection. the frequency valve MUST operate for the engine to run well. pull the dome light fuse and take it for a drive.(the fuse powers the lamda relay, too). not too much power. the only way i know around it is to use a 78/79 fuel distributor and warmup regulator. i did the same on my 87 930 engine.
