mice, and engine rebuild...
life lesson: never store a sack of critter corn in the same space where you store your car
mice illegally immigrated into the wee beastie, took up residence, and crapped all over the inside, stink'n her up to to high heaven. repairs $7500 and 10 weeks. (might as well take care of this and that while we're in there--amounted to rebuild) 1 bent intake valve, stripped spark plug threads, clutch assy and fly wheel, crankshaft seals, timing chain tensioners, head studs, ad nausium....... ....stole and spread corn all over engine and interior--mechanic thought it was a hoot. I had to un-assemble lots of stuff to get to the stinkum--now must re-assemble. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() also, Last edited by Brorag; 01-02-2017 at 01:14 PM.. |

Jubilation--wee beastie is fixed...
1st time I got it back, the mechanic had set the cams to almost top-dead-center. I've got 3 chips: standard, performance and racing. The installed chip was the performance chip. Dagum thing would hardly idle--but would flat haul butt. He reset the cams, so it'll stay on the road now. .....well, except that busted odometer gear, LED instrument lights, and no wipers or washers, but who's sweating the small stuff... odometer off to odo dr, LED instrument lights installed--still no wipers. Further drama here: Rostra Cruise Control ...run it for a thousand miles, then reset valves/ck for leaks. Last edited by Brorag; 12-30-2016 at 03:26 PM.. |
