a true carrera RS 471 factory lightweight would fetch well over $100K, depending on condition.

Everyone's gotta make a buck... right? Price includes buyer's premium too.
If someone knows the history of this car, perhaps they could explain the abnormal M471 option variations listed in description.

Who would of thought. Two lightweight Carrera RS in White/Blue forsale at the same time.
If the laws of supply and demand hold up it just might be the time to buy. ![]() Bobby |

From the ebay listing: "the car was converted to lightweight specification back in 1979 by a Porsche Mechanic, all the lightweight parts are factory parts" Still a very cool car, and it looks great. Tom |

Hey, at least I can say I've driven it...lightweight #79 that is...and it's 2nd owner would agree. Want to cry? He paid $10,000 for the car, back when he was a young USAF offficer stationed in Germany. It had been prepped for hillclimb by Max Moritz...As far as values go? These things cycle...I remember the collector car boom of the late 80's...values of these cars declined as the world stock markets took off a bit later. Hmmm, maybe we are poised for a market recovery? Sure hope so.

Well, that's the theory I'm clinging to. When the M471's hit $50K or so, I plan to make my move! ![]() |
