SC Distributor Plug Order
At the point in my rebuild where I'm reconnecting all the wiring. I was putting on the distributor cap and spark plug wires. I had originally left the wires attached to the cap when I removed them. So I double checked the wire order and found numbers 5 and 4 switched on the cap.
The car had been running without any noticeable issues. Can this be possible. I double and triple checked the order and I had them wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would say it is possible, but I am not going to go switch mine to verify.
You should notice a considerable change in power.

162435 CCW as you know. For grins, pull #4 wire at the plug. Start engine. Notice miss. Now pull YOUR #4, which is on #5 at the distributor and see if it's the same miss or worse.

Engine is out for rebuild so can't investigate. Just putting them in the correct order and going from there. Not sure how that happened.

Ah, so the time of bad wiring was prior to an engine rebuild you are now undertaking? If so, and you are correct in the pre-rebuild dizzy wiring error, your car is gong to run a lot better I would think. ;>

SC Distributor Plug Order
I hope you're right. Between that, the seized up vacuum advance on the distributor, the leaking Decel valve, and the throttle micro switch that wasn't working for cold enrichment I'm hoping to see some improvement just on fixing that stuff.
