![]() ![]() Finally, I can announce to all who own 74 911s and want to keep them as original as possible and retain their rear pump location: replacement chassis lines up to the pump and from the motor........ Fuel Supply, Tank to Pump- ![]() Fuel return, Motor to Tank- ![]() These are for the 74 model year only, with the latest E-85 rated Hose and Norma hose clamps from Germany. Correct replacements for those owners who wish to retain their rear fuel pump location and vehicle originality. Please note- I also offer the hi-pressure feed hose from the pump to the accumulator as a separate part. For more info, please email me. Although I am often up north trying to build a cabin in the woods, I will reply as quickly as possible. Please, no PMs. Email me only. Len at Autosportengineering dot com ![]() |

A nice piece of kit for those wishing to retain the original configuration.
I must say that my first 74 had periods where it would start hard. Extended cranking etc. Pressure and volume tests were okay. Went through both fuel and ignition systems. After moving the pump to the front crossmember as on the early 911s and post 75 911s I had no more issues. This could've been from today's cruddy fuel, altitude or a combination of both. I'm pro front mount after all that. Either way you configure it, Len is the go to guy.

![]() ![]() Thank you for the kind words Jeff. Back then we called it "vapor lock". It was just as you describe. A front pump is a better choice. Of course, there are some "original" models out there whose owners will not change a thing, even if its an improvement. The "Hydraulic" tensioners also come to mind. Len ![]() |
