What is a Silver Anniversary Edition

Ran across an '89 911 Silver Anniversary edition.
Does anyone know what this is?

Thanks

Talking Silver Anniversay Edition

I have a '75 Silver Anniversary Edition. I think the silver anniversary being marked with my car is 25 years of Porsche. I don't know what the '89 represents.

jaxon,
The Silver Anniversary cars were made in 1989 as you said, not to be confused with the Commemorative/Signature Edition cars made in 1988.
Silver Anniversary's were made to celebrate 25 years of the 911 - there were 500 made, 300 coupes and 200 cabrios. Most have silver met paint with color matched Fuchs, full grey leather interior with black piping on the seats, a turbo center console, and plush carpet throughout. Few were made with a black (metallic maybe?) paint - I think around 60.
Bruce Anderson states these cars should pull a 10-20% increase over the norm in price based on their limited numbers. Check out my Pelican page below, I happen to own one!
Hope this helps,

I drooled over one of these when I was looking for my car but it just wasn't in the budget.
If I remember correctly, it came in two ext. colors...silver and anthricite with a grey supple leather with some dark piping. It also came with a turbo gauge cluster on the center console. Tail and spoiler may have been std. Don't know how many of each color were made but they are nice cars.
There was a thread a while back on it. You may be able to find it on a search and get more info.
