Fun history question
Below is a lousy drawing meant to represent the area on the case / fan housing where the engine number and type are stamped. Along with the number and type, mine has a 'GT' stamped. Is this a factory marking? If so, what does it mean?
The reason I asked is 'GT' happens to be the initials of the guy working for Grady Clay that built the engine in the '70s.

Greg, definitely nothing like that on my '72 case...engine number looks good for a '72T tho...so should be an original magnesium case. Sorry I can't be more help.

Paul, you know the name 'George Tague'? He's the fellow at Grady's shop that did the engine work. I guess he autographed his work.

Greg, I'd say that's a very good guess. I'm sure I met George when I was there, (think I met everybody in a whirlwind round of introductions)but don't remember him now. Is Grady able to give you any clues?
