Somebody please tell me what this is called...

I need to either order this or find a used one from the board (Does anyone have one?), and I just want to make sure I get the right part. Seeing as it is getting soooo cold here in Texas.;)

By the way RickM, what's that other red thing in the middle near the top of the picture?

IMONBOOST 01-15-2003 12:15 PM

That is the black plastic thing that goes next to the........ I don't know.

It's an auxiliary siren. BTW, what is it that I have circled in this pic?

MotoSook 01-15-2003 12:23 PM

flux capacitor ;)

johnnyo200 01-15-2003 12:24 PM

That's what I keep calling it. I'm finally tired of looking at the silver "clothes dryer" tubing that was installed by PO. One by one, every week, I am making it a point to fix pesky little problems/missing/incorrect parts on my car.
Just want to get the right part.

why don't you go to your local porsche dealer parts guy at the dealership and get a part number and price before ordering it used or elsewhere. It is clearly a 3.2 911 Carrera heating duct in the engine compartment part. Ask to look at the microfiche for the heating system and it'll tell you what it's called as well as the part number.

the silver thingy is probably the auxiliary air regulator or decel control valve. The small red donut is an aftermarket air flow sensor throttle control plate? Weird engine mods. How does it all run?

RickM 01-15-2003 12:30 PM

Hmmm, maybe because it's more convenient here?

RickM 01-15-2003 12:32 PM

The "small red donut" is an Auxiliary siren for the alarm.

johnnyo200 01-15-2003 12:37 PM

'cause I'm lazy.:D
Not really, I tried calling and the whole explaining thing didn't work and I just haven't had the time to visit with those guys.
Anyway, this board is much more informed and much more fun to talk to- and I can do it fom work.

I think you mean the "hot air elbow" pn 930-211-341-03
It runs from the blower to the rubber receptical near the fan pully.
